For our we are looking for a Vendor Manager
Short and Simple | About the role:
You implement and manage the Vendor Management policies as effectively as possible by exploiting, evaluating and improving the underpinning contracts and contributing in creating these contracts in order to ensure adequate IT services from external suppliers that enable the company to reach its business and IT objectives. Your main focus is on sourcing contracts. You actively contribute and initiate the renewal and realization of the overall IT sourcing strategy in close cooperation with the manager People & Sourcing.
Area of expertise:
1. IT Strategy
– Contributes greatly to IT policy so that optimum external service is offered at attractive costs that offer value maximization for BUs (low costs or profit maximization) and ensures continuity and security.
– Contributes to the general sourcing and supplier strategy.
– Formulates standards, methods and techniques, assessment criteria, financial contributions, KPIs for contract management and ensures application within the department.
– Is process manager of vendor management related processes in the IT process model
2. Contract Management
– Contributes and initiates to the development of sourcing strategies and realization of this strategy for underpinning contracts
– Translates wishes for IT services into a contract within the framework of the Corporate IT and Procurement policy;
– Ensures that underpinning contracts comply with the department policy or meet contract policy in order to make adequate utilization possible
– Implement underpinning contracts so that they can be used
– Manages underpinning contracts from a management role so that they are utilized correctly.
– Is the point of contact for the contract owner, project managers, managers and suppliers regarding the operation of the underpinning contracts and escalations concerning the contract content
– Resolves contractual and commercial issues regarding underpinning contracts
– Orchestrates the contact between the organization and the designated IT suppliers (meetings and reports) on an operational, tactical and strategic level and monitors the services provided by the suppliers through periodic audits, random tests and reporting from the departments;
– Assesses offers submitted for adjustments and extensions to contractual services and makes proposals for modifications;
– Identifies and reports on developments, costs, tactical issues and results of suppliers / contracts, assesses the performances delivered and makes improvement proposals and thereby contributes to supplier management;
– Periodically and in the event of developments with the contract owner and the supplier, evaluates the service to improve the quality (degree of conformity of the delivered, desired and contracted services), determines the degree of satisfaction, makes agreements that lead to optimization of the contractual services ( improving quality and / or reducing costs);
– When applicable, sets fix a bonus / malus award and handle the settlement with the relevant service providers / suppliers on the basis of the methods agreed in the SLAs;
– Is responsible for substantiating, drafting and monitoring the budgets for underpinning contracts; reports on estimates and realization of the costs in the underpinning contracts
– Identifies and reports on developments, costs, tactical issues and results of suppliers / contracts, assesses the performances delivered and makes improvement proposals and thereby contributes to sup-plier management;
– Periodically and in the event of developments with the contract owner and the supplier, evaluates the service to improve the quality (degree of conformity of the delivered, desired and contracted services), determines the degree of satisfaction, makes agreements that lead to optimization of the contractual services ( improving quality and / or reducing costs);

3. Risk Management
– Analyzes risks in the underpinning contracts and initiates mitigating measures such as suppliers audits if necessary
– Performs control self assessments on contract management related processes in the IT process model
– Analyzes risks in the software license compliance position and initiates mitigating measures if necessary
4. Continuous Improvement
– Keep track of developments in industry and technology.
– Is aware of the status in the market of suppliers and potential suppliers and reports on this to the IT Leadership team.
– Uses this information to formulate strategic choices.
– Provides solicited and unsolicited advice to improve IT collaboration with suppliers and implements this where possible.
Requirements:
– Academic work and thinking level (BSc) in informatics, business administration or equivalent.
– > 10 years of experience in working in an IT environment
– > 5 years of experience in contract management of complex IT contracts
– > 5 years of experience in setting up and executing cooperations with external suppliers
– Knowledge of information management and automation methods, techniques and processes and quality & SLA management.
– Experience with contract management, purchase processes and service-, hardware- and software contract structures in a large IT environment.
– Able to communicate effectively in English and Dutch.

Impact :
– Defines the sourcing strategy of IT with the IT Leadershipteam.
– Sourcing strategy has a big influence on costs and should align with the way of working.
– Is involved in the selection of vendors for large and long-term partnerships.
Nature of stakeholders :
– Interacts mainly with the IT Leadershipteam and budget owners on management level on a daily base for contract management.
– Closely collaborates with Procurement department to set-up and improve contracts.
– Can have international contacts for specific contracts and works a lot with external suppliers.
